Ledger Art Make and Take

Join us for a special “Make and Take” on Ledger Art. Cassie Bush, Cultural Coordinator shares her art with Elders. Materials will be provided.

Ledger Art is an art form originating from the Boarding School Era; then it was used as a tool to discretely tell our stories and express oneself artistically when our relative’s voices were lost. Now Ledger Art can have a plethora of meanings. Old documents of all kinds are transformed depicting anything from nature to animals, to our stories and pop culture characters, the possibilities are endless. Learn how to create your own ledger art with the Elders and Language and Culture Department.
