SUMMARY:Zhoshëmé Snow Snake Games
DESCRIPTION:Snow Snake: A Traditional Winter Game\nSnow Snake is a traditional Native American game played during the winter. Historically, it’s been a game for men only – women weren’t allowed to touch a man’s snow snake and in some communities weren’t even allowed to watch. It was considered a medicine game that lifted the spints of the men during long winters, but our games today are mostly just for sport and to build comradery among both male and female players. Our games will be co-ed, all are welcome to compete.\nSnow snakes are hand-made from a carved piece of wood. Sometimes one end of the snow snake is weighted with lead or pewter inlay and the other end is notched to make it easier to throw.\nThe object of the game is to throw the snow snake the farthest distance along a smooth trough made in the snow. Players can compete as individuals and as teams.\nGOOD FOOD, PRIZES, AND TONS OF FUN!\n
